AI Writes the Referral and Books the OR — MOHW Unveils 'Healthcare AX' in First Live Demo
June 2, 2026

On May 29, 2026, the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) and Seoul National University Hospital unveiled a technology demonstration of an "AI-based Patient Referral & Transfer System," presenting the core model of the "Healthcare Full-Cycle AI Transformation (AX) Sprint Program" targeted for rollout across public healthcare in the second half of this year.
The initiative is part of the government's program to fast-track the commercialization of AI-applied products for chronic disease management, supporting six projects across five tracks. Among them, CrystarVision was selected as the lead organization for the "PACS-Linked Care Coordination" track.
Centered on the Gangwon region — including Gangwon National University Hospital, Yeongwol Medical Center, and Gangneung Medical Center — CrystarVision will build an AI–PACS–EMR integrated automated image-reading and Care Loop platform for patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions. The project aims to automate clinical information exchange in regional and public healthcare settings, reduce the administrative burden on medical staff, and help narrow regional health disparities.
